About your Guide:
Welcome to Woods to Water Guide Service. My name Christopher Hodge, I grew up on the shores of Lake Memphremagog in Northern Vt about a mile from the Canadian Border. I graduated North Country High School and attended Paul Smith's College studying Forestry. I am a New Hampshire Licensed Guide, New Hampshire Licensed Wildlife Control Operator with Snaring Endorsement and Professional Commercial Fur Trapper. I hold a Coast Guard Commercial Boat License, and am Certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Blood Born Pathogens.
I have guided in both New Hampshire and Vermont. In fact my first fishing guide job was at age 13. I have fished almost every species of warm and cold water fish found in the Eastern US. I have hunted and tracked Big Woods Bucks as well as Bear and Moose. Growing up on Lake Memphremagog Waterfowl hunting was just a natural thing to do, I have been hunting Waterfowl for over 40 years. I also have a lengthy history hunting Ruffed Grouse and Snowshoe Hare. I can provide a wealth of knowledge for anyone who wants to give it a try. Asked, what got me interested in the outdoors I will tell you "a famous woodsman named Jersey Drown who took me under his wing and showed me the ways of the old time outdoorsman". I am the primary owner of Woods to Water Fishing and Hunting Guide Service located in the Heart of the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
What we Fish:
We are minutes away from some of the finest warm and cold water fisheries in the Northeast. We fish Northern Pike, Large and Small Mouth Bass, White Perch, Yellow Perch as well as Lake Trout (Touge), Landlock Salmon, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout and Monster Brown Trout.
What we Hunt:
We have vast tracks of wooded forest Land. We hunt Bear, Deer, Turkey, Moose as well as Waterfowl and Upland Game.Whether you prefer Archery or Firearm Hunting, Woods to Water Guide Service has the knowledge and ability to put you on the game.
Our Trapline typically runs from Mid October to Mid April. Early season we focus on Coyote, Muskrat and Mink. As the days get shorter we move on to Beaver and Otter. The month of December we trap Fisher while still maintaining the Coyote line. The trapline is highly fluid and also is accessed by 4 Wheeler, Canoe, Snowmobile and from the Roadways. As with any sport some days are great and somedays you check lots of empty sets, but as every trapper will agree "every day is like Christmas"
We do not offer lodging at this time but, we are closely associated with several Hotels, Log Cabin Lodging and Campgrounds. Go to the Links page for a listing of local accommodations.
